Eastlake (Cleveland) Ohio. National Consulting and Development Corporation (NCD) today announced a major development to its electronic document imaging repository service, e-WIX. The company has completed the installation of a co-location hosting site in Columbus, Ohio. This site provides e-WIX subscribers alternative systems in the event the Eastlake systems became unavailable. This site gives e-WIX subscribers another level of back-up for data availability. Prior to establishing the co-location site, data was hosted on twin hosting systems. Data is uploaded simultaneously to both primary and secondary systems providing a local backup. This process will continue and additionally, data will be uploaded to the Troy site creating availability of a third system should it ever become necessary. "Although we think it would be extremely unlikely that we would ever need to use the Troy site, we would prefer to be safe than sorry," explains Charles Patti, NCD CEO/President. "We store data on raid storage devices, we have multiple systems, we back up on hard drives and digital tape and move media off site nightly. The co-location site in Troy is just another precaution to insure our customers will always have access to the data they entrust in us."

e-WIX is a low cost document service that enables subscribers to have their paper files converted to document images (free), hosted on e-WIX servers and instantly accessible from their desktop via the web.

The entire e-WIX process is an outsourced solution eliminating the need to hire scanning and indexing personnel, purchasing expensive document management systems, support or related resources. Large companies such as Parker, Steris, Lamson & Sessions, Riddell and smaller organizations such as Mentor Lumber, CMDM and Dorsey International use the e-WIX solution to gain productivity, document archive and/or an alternative to microfilming and record storage. e-WIX sales are growing at a rate of nearly 20% per year as the need to access information electronically becomes more important.
